The Austin market continues to thrive on many fronts. For several years now, the real estate market has been one of the strongest in the country. The job market is at its highest, and people from all over the world continue to make their way into the city limits. With one of the strongest economies across America, it should come as no surprise that Austin has once again made it’s way into a list by Forbes of “cities to watch.”
In June 2016, Forbes released their list of “10 Cities Americans are Moving to Right now.” And while some cities that made the list may come as a surprise, it’s really just par for the course that two Texas cities make the cut!
Austin comes in at number 5 on the list with an unemployment rate of 3.1% and a median home price of $399,000. The debate continues regarding the availability of affordable housing within the city, however this doesn’t seem to curb Austin’s continued population growth. And the growing tech industry within Central Texas is a strong contributing factor to our diminishing unemployment rate.
